Our First Offical Family Camping Trip

We went to Whitewater State Park near Rochester for our first family camping experience.  We went with four other families we are friends with through church.  I think the best part for me was seeing Isaac and Luke playing with the other children.  They know them well because of our mom's group at church.  It's so fun to see them all together for the whole day.

We did just one night figuring we needed to break ourselves into this whole experience slowly.  Besides a few hours of wrestling in the tent before bed, it was smooth sailing.  The boys loved sleeping outside, eating campfire food (especially the S'mores), and playing both on the beach and near the campsites.
Isaac's first S'more - looks like he likes it!

I think at least a third of it stayed on his face...

Luke sitting fire-side with Katie

Playing in the grass, our little nature boy!

Luke had to try a bike out like all the big kids were doing all weekend.

Relaxing together in the hammock.

How many people can we fit in the hammock?
(From left to right, Isaac, Tobias, Curtis, Heidi, Kathryn, and Luke)
Notice how all the kids are blond... I think that most of them could have been mistaken for siblings!

The boys refused to take a picture together in front of the tent so here they are individually.

Settling in for sleep???  More like settling in for a good wrestling session.

Our little dare devil... doesn't he look so proud of himself!

Time to cool off at the beach!

As we were all packing our cars to leave Sunday morning, the boys played "rocket ship" in the Lindahls' van.  Notice that Isaac buckled himself in.  Safety first!

We plan on doing many more family camping trips in the future.
