We started our day with a high up to the alluvial fan - an easy hike on a paved trail so we were able to do it with strollers.
The views at the end of the path were stunning.
We were able to take off our socks and shoes and paddle around in the water a little bit. It was very cold!
After the hike we found a spot for a picnic and had lunch. The highlights of the picnic lunch for the boys was chasing chipmunks, playing with sticks, and throwing sticks into the nearby river to see where they would float off to.
We also drove part of the Trail Ridge Road and got up to about 10,000 feet, above the vegetation line to tundra area. It was beautiful but we could definitely tell the air was thinner up there!
There was so much to see and do that we could have spent a week there and still only barely scratched the surface. I can't wait to go back again!
